Tencent’s PUBG Mobile replacement ‘Game for Peace’ EARNS $14 MILLION IN 72 HOURS

 Game for Peace

Tencent, the company behind the PUBG game recently announced a replacement with a game called’ Game of Peace’ for the PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) Mobile. According to the report, the game started generating revenue within just 72 hours of its launch and collected over $14 million.

According to data from Sensor Tower, the Game for Peace iOS version was also the most downloaded free game and top-grossing game in Apple’s China App Store. Tencent, the world’s largest games publisher by revenue, is finally generating revenue for the popular battle royale genre from the massive user base.

Due to regulatory delays and a government crackdown on content, Tencent was unable to make money from the mobile version of the PUBG game. So last week, the company closed the title and started the new ‘Game for Peace.’

It has similar gameplay and enables users to automatically migrate their data from PUBG Mobile. Tencent was approved last month to generate revenue from the new title from regulators, which means that when they start playing the game, users can buy skins and other items in the game immediately.

China has also banned violent, sexual, and politically sensitive content across many platforms, from television, shows to video games, in addition to regulatory reshuffle. Game Furthermore, the company said in a statement that it will limit the gameplay period for those aged 16 to 18 for two hours per day, as a nod to the government’s campaign to protect the health of children and prevent gaming addiction.

According to the description of the game on the website, Game for Peace pays tribute to the Air Force of the People’s Liberation Army in defending the territory of the country.
